Lana, one of our cultural exchange participants, sends us warm greetings from beautiful Jaén, Spain. Surrounded by culture, kind-hearted people, and plenty of memorable moments, she dove into her experience with an open mind. Here’s what she had to share:
It took me some time to adjust to the new environment—this kind of change is big but in the best way. The beginning was challenging, but honest and open communication with the host family helped us get to know each other better, bond, and truly enjoy our time together. The town is small but incredibly pleasant, and the people are very friendly. That’s exactly what makes it such a great place if you’re looking to create new experiences while still feeling safe and welcomed. I spent my free time relaxing by the pool or taking walks around town with the boy I was taking care of.What I loved most was having the chance to practice the language. And the food? Absolutely amazing!
When it comes to working with our team, Lana keeps it clear and simple:
No complaints at all—a very professional organization.
And her message to future exchange participants:
The key to having a great experience like this is building a kind and open relationship with your host family. For me, honest communication made all the difference.
