Anja, one of our participants, writes to us from the stunning region of Costa Brava in Catalonia. She’s been enjoying life in Spain for the past few weeks, and her story is full of warmth, discovery, and unforgettable moments.
To say I’m happy would be an understatement! The host family has been by my side every step of the way, and I truly felt at home from the very beginning. I’ve had the chance to immerse myself in their culture, learn about their traditions, and gain a fresh perspective on the world and the people around me.
Most of my free time is spent walking or at the beach. I walked over 20 kilometers a day because I wanted to soak in every part of Spain I possibly could. My favorite thing was heading to the beach in the evening, just to listen to the sound of the waves. That’s how I ended most of my days — and honestly, I can’t think of a better way to end them.
I’m thrilled with everything — the Center, my host family, and Spain itself, which I now consider the most beautiful country. All I can say is that I’d love to do it all over again!
When it comes to working with our team, Anja says:
I couldn’t be more satisfied. Throughout the entire process, I felt incredibly safe and reassured that everything would go smoothly. The coordinators were available 24/7 and always answered my questions with kindness and patience. I’m in Spain right now thanks to the Center, and I can truly say this is an experience I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
And her advice to future participants:
Don’t think twice — just apply! This is the kind of experience that stays with you forever. You’ll meet so many new people, dive into a new culture, and step outside your comfort zone. I’m full of impressions and can’t wait to share every single story with my friends back in Belgrade. I’ve already encouraged them to apply next year because they were so inspired by everything I’ve told them!
