A Great Opportunity to Gain New Experiences – Cultural Exchange in Spain

Iva, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, writes to us from Córdoba, the former capital of Moorish Spain. Here’s what she shared about her experience so far:

This program is a fantastic opportunity to gain new experiences and meet new people while learning about their culture. During your time living with a host family, you can learn so much about their traditions and everyday life.

Córdoba is a beautiful city, located in the heart of Andalusia. It’s full of history and stunning places to explore.

I usually spend my free time going out with friends or traveling. Córdoba is in a great location if you’re interested in exploring nearby cities, and I’ve especially enjoyed taking weekend trips and discovering the surrounding areas.

Her message to future participants:

I would recommend all future participants to choose their host family carefully. And once you arrive, try to connect with other au pairs in your city or nearby—it really helps, especially in the beginning when everything feels new and you might feel a bit homesick. But once you settle in and get used to the family and the new environment, everything becomes easier—and that’s when the real fun starts!
