Aleksandra, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, has been living for about a month in Palma de Mallorca—the largest city and port on the island of Mallorca. Here’s what she shared about her experience:
I’m absolutely thrilled—both with the program and with the island of Mallorca. It’s beautifully organized, looks like something out of a fairytale, and is perfect for relaxing and taking stunning photos.
In my free time, I learn Spanish in lots of different ways—through music, shows, comic books, Duolingo, and, of course, everyday conversations. So far, I’ve visited around 30 beaches on the island, and I walk between 10 and 20 kilometers a day. I even made a trip to Portugal to explore a bit there, and in just a few days, I’m heading off to see Seville, Córdoba, Málaga, and Marbella.
I’ve met more than ten other au pair girls here in Mallorca—they’re from all over the world, some even from other continents. One guy I met came back here for a second time because he loved it so much, and we’ve been exploring the island together too.
The host family I’m staying with is truly lovely. We agree on everything easily, and I have a lot of free time—which is something I really value.
Her message to future participants:
To all future participants—don’t hesitate! This could be an unforgettable adventure. Taking part in this program is definitely worth it.
