Our cultural exchange participant in Spain, Jovana, recently returned from Huelva—a port city in southwestern Spain—where she spent a month and a half. Here’s what she had to say about her experience.
The family I stayed with was incredibly warm and friendly. Huelva itself is beautiful, peaceful, and full of attractions to explore during free time.
Speaking of free time, I spent most of it traveling with a friend I met through the exchange. We visited nearby cities, saw historical landmarks, and immersed ourselves in Spanish culture together.
What I loved the most was how open the family was in their communication, how they treated me like one of their own, and how many different ways I got to experience a whole new culture.
