Our cultural exchange participant, Galina, who is returning home today, spent a month and a half in the town of Perarrua, located in the province of Huesca in northeastern Spain. Here’s what she had to say about her experience.
I stayed with a lovely five-member family who spend their summers in Peru. They were incredibly kind and treated me like one of their own. We traveled together, exploring different places so I could get to know both their region and neighboring ones. Even though it’s a small town, Perarrua comes alive in the summer with plenty of festivals and a vibrant atmosphere.
I spent most of my free time with the family, swimming in the river or pool, strolling through the town, and hopping between local festivals.
What I loved was getting the chance to experience authentic Spanish life and to live abroad for a longer period. Learning Spanish with the family was a huge plus—and honestly, a lot of fun.
I’d recommend this cultural exchange program to anyone. It’s a chance to discover more about yourself, your abilities, your boundaries—and to live out some truly unforgettable adventures.
