Our cultural exchange participant Maša is writing to us from Sotogrande, often called the “Palm Springs of Andalusia,” where she’s been staying for the past two months. Here’s what she had to say about her experience so far.
My impressions are overwhelmingly positive. In a short time, I’ve built a great connection with my host family. We have a really good relationship, and I honestly feel like I belong here. They go out of their way to help me with everything, even organizing my free time. They’ve been so respectful and thoughtful that I honestly have no complaints.
In my free time, I love relaxing on the beach, biking around, going out with friends, taking Spanish classes, and enjoying the nightlife.
When the weekends roll around, I usually take the chance to travel, meet new people, and soak up everything this place has to offer.
To all future candidates, I’d say this: Be bold and take the leap—just go for it. Don’t wait for a friend to join you; experience the exchange on your own! You’ll meet so many new people, discover incredible cities and traditions, and walk away with an unforgettable life experience. Wishing you all the best!
