Our cultural exchange participant Ružica is writing to us from Madrid, where she’s been living for the past two months. Here’s what she shared about her experience.
I have to admit, I was nervous before arriving, but that feeling completely vanished the moment I met my host family at the airport. From that moment on, they’ve always made an effort to make me feel like a true part of their family and completely at home.
I usually spend my free time exploring Madrid with some girls from Serbia I met through the agency, or relaxing at the pool with the family.
What I’ve loved most about this program is my host family—they’re incredibly caring and understanding. But of course, I also adore Madrid itself, a city where there’s something new to discover every single day. I’m also so happy I’ve met some amazing girls here who’ve truly become my friends—this whole experience wouldn’t be the same without them.
For anyone thinking about applying, I’d say go for it! You have nothing to lose and so much to gain—this could be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life.
