Broaden Your Horizons and Make Lasting Memories

Brigita, a former cultural exchange participant in the U.S. and now in Spain, writes to us from Andalusia. She’s currently spending two months in the charming town of Lucena, embracing a new adventure after her previous positive experience in America. Read more about her journey below:

After spending two years in the U.S. and loving the experience, I decided to try something new—and I’m so glad I did. A few weeks ago, I moved to a small town called Lucena. Even though it’s a small place, there’s always something to do and good company to enjoy. I’ve joined a cheerful family, and both the parents and kids made me feel like part of the family from day one. We spend most of our time together, and it already feels like home.

On a typical day, I help the kids with their homework, take them to activities, play with them at home or in the park, and just enjoy being part of their world. In my free time, I like exploring nearby towns or attending Spanish language classes. What I love most is how warm and friendly people are—it helps when you’re trying to learn a new language.

What I’ve enjoyed most about Spain so far is the language, the natural warmth of the people, and the beautiful scenery and architecture. To all adventurers and those who love working with children, I wholeheartedly recommend this program. It’s perfect for anyone open to adapting to a new environment and eager to learn something new.

First and foremost, you have to love working with kids. But beyond that, this program is a chance to truly experience a different culture, language, and way of life. It changes you—it helps you grow. It opens your mind. And it gives you friendships and connections that might prove meaningful in ways you can’t yet imagine. All in all, being part of this program brings a world of new, positive experiences.
