Aleksandra, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, writes to us from Tarragona, a beautiful city on the Mediterranean coast. Here’s what she had to say about her adventure:
This program is the perfect opportunity to truly experience Spanish culture, language, and way of life. The host family I’m staying with is wonderful—understanding, easy to talk to, and open to communication. We quickly adjusted to one another, and we got along well. We spend time together, and they often plan little trips to nearby towns or nature spots.
In my free time, I explore the surrounding area or head to the beach with the family. Spain is such a beautiful country, and the people are warm, friendly, and eager to connect. Barcelona is full of tourists and attractions—there’s something new to see and try on every corner. I’ve had the chance to taste local dishes, discover new music, and pick up bits of the Spanish language. My experience in the program has been incredibly positive. The time I spend with the kids is filled with games, laughter, and fun English lessons.
