Tihana, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, writes to us from Arroyomolinos, a small town just outside Madrid. Here’s what she had to say about her experience so far:
I’d love to share my first impressions of the program, the family, and the town I’m staying in! From the moment I arrived, the host family welcomed me most wonderfully—right from the start, they treated me as a new member of the family. I truly value the relationship we’ve built, which is full of understanding and mutual respect. I’ll always speak about this experience with great joy.
I’ve enjoyed everything—from the family to the town itself—especially because this has been something I’ve dreamed of for many years. The family took the time to show me around and focused on my wishes—what I wanted to see, which activities I might like to try, and more.
In my free time, I go to the gym, attend English classes, read, and continue learning Spanish. On weekends, I often plan gatherings or day trips with friends. What I’ve appreciated most so far is the bond I’ve formed with my host family and the sense of daily adventure that comes from being in a completely new environment.
