Isidora began her cultural exchange journey to Italy on January 10, 2020, with excitement and the hope of experiencing something unforgettable—just like every participant dreaming of their big adventure.
As she puts it, this experience brought her so much: she met new people, learned how to navigate unfamiliar situations, and came out of it all as a more mature person with plenty of new connections. She returned home on April 13th, but the memories and impact of that time remain strong. Here’s how Isidora herself described it:
Of all my travels, this one to Italy is the most precious and dearest to my heart. It was dynamic, turbulent, and gave me an invaluable sense of freedom—it shook me awake with experiences that made me feel truly alive.
Beyond the must-see tourist attractions, the cultural exchange gave me the chance to live with a traditional Italian family and really see what everyday life is like in Italy. That’s something you just can’t experience as a regular tourist.
There are so many reasons why I’d recommend this kind of program to others—but you can never fully capture the feeling through words. So I’ll just say this: I’m already looking forward to my next exchange and all the beautiful things that come with it—stepping out of my comfort zone, meeting people who help me discover parts of myself, gaining new knowledge, improving my language skills, and so much more.
