A One-of-a-Kind Adventure – Cultural Exchange in Spain

Kristina, one of our participants in the “Experience Spain” cultural exchange program, writes to us from Sant Vicenç de Castellet, a quiet town near Barcelona. Here’s what she had to share about her time in Spain so far:

I’m currently taking part in the ‘Experience Spain’ cultural exchange program and I’m absolutely loving it! I’m staying in the small and peaceful town of Sant Vicenç de Castellet, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The town has such a warm and welcoming vibe, and the local people are incredibly kind—just as I expected from Spain. The host family greeted me with open arms and made me feel like a true part of their family from day one.

Even though the town is small, it’s surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Being close to the stunning Montserrat mountain and other scenic spots gives me the perfect excuse to go exploring and enjoy the outdoors. I’ve also had the chance to visit gorgeous sandy beaches with the family—they’re not too far away and made for some truly unforgettable and relaxing days.

Kristina spends her free time going on walks, discovering new places, reading, learning Spanish, and hanging out with another participant who, by coincidence, is also staying in the same town.

I didn’t know anyone when I arrived, so having someone to share this experience with made a big difference—we’re stronger together.

What I love most is how genuinely kind and generous everyone here is. Every single thing I’ve seen, tried, and experienced is thanks to the warmth of the people around me. It might be a small place, but it has such a beautiful energy. One highlight was attending a local festival and watching a stunning fireworks show in a nearby town—it was magical.
