Anastasija, one of our cultural exchange participants, writes to us from the stunning island of Mallorca. For the past few weeks, she’s been soaking up everything this magical place has to offer — and her journey has been nothing short of unforgettable.
From the first moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The program is incredibly well-organized, which made it easy for me to adjust to a brand-new environment. The host family I’m staying with is simply wonderful — they’re kind, thoughtful, and truly go out of their way to make me feel at home. The town itself is breathtaking, filled with cultural gems and natural beauty everywhere you turn.
Since I’m living close to the beach, I spend a lot of my free time soaking up the sun and enjoying the sea. On top of that, my host parents run two restaurants, which has given me the chance to meet some amazing people who work there. We’ve become good friends, and now we go out together regularly.
What surprised and delighted me the most is just how friendly and social people in Spain are. Everyone is so open and helpful — no matter the situation, you can always count on someone’s support and warm welcome. That openness and community spirit have truly made this experience even more special and unforgettable.
