Teodora, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, writes to us from Ciempozuelos, a cozy little town near Madrid where she’s been living for almost three months. Here’s what she had to share about her experience so far:
When it comes to the host family, I have nothing but praise. They’ve truly been wonderful and always ready to help. From the start of the program, they’ve gone out of their way to make sure I travel, explore, and enjoy my time here to the fullest. While Seseña might be small and tucked away, it actually offers a lot—and it’s a beautiful town full of interesting places and activities.
On weekdays, Teodora likes to spend her free time in town, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere or walking the family dogs. Her weekends, though, are all about Madrid—either discovering new corners of the city or joining the family on trips to nearby spots.
What stood out the most to her?
The chance to meet new people and make meaningful connections has been the highlight of my stay.
