Anđela, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, has been living for a month and a half in Zahara de los Atunes, a coastal town at the southernmost tip of the country. Here’s what she shared about her experience:
My first impressions were magical. The host family is wonderful—I knew I was coming into a happy, smiling home, but this has exceeded all my expectations. It honestly feels like we’ve known each other forever, and I’m sure this friendship will last long after the program ends. The town itself is beautiful—right on the Atlantic Ocean, full of palm trees and dance music! I think that says it all.
I have a lovely daily routine—during my free time, I usually go to the gym or relax on the beach. Other activities vary, but they all involve exploring the town and diving deeper into Spanish culture. I’ve spent my days off traveling—I’ve already visited Seville, Barcelona, and Vejer, and I’m planning a trip to Madrid before I leave.
What I’ve loved most is having so much time to fully experience Spain and learn more about its rich culture.
