Magical Seville – Cultural Exchange in Spain

Veronika, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, sends her greetings from Seville, where she’s been living for a little over a month. Here’s what her experience has been like so far:

After spending several months in Seville, I can honestly say this has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the very beginning, the team at the Center was right there with me, helping me find a family that was a perfect fit, walking me through every step of the process, preparing me for interviews, and most importantly, being available whenever I had questions or concerns. The family I stayed with welcomed me as one of their own, and I also had plenty of free time to attend Spanish language classes.

Seville is a magical city. As the capital of Andalusia, it’s bursting with warmth, history, culture, and incredible energy. It’s known for flamenco, tapas, and traditional festivals like Feria de Abril, which I had the chance to attend. The architecture is stunning—Alcázar, the Cathedral, Metropol Parasol, and Plaza de España are just a few of the breathtaking sights.

In my free time, I study Spanish and travel around. What I’ve loved most is the genuinely positive experience I’ve had with my host family, and then of course, Seville itself—it’s such a special place in every possible way.

The support from the team at the Center has meant a lot to me. From day one, they were there, helping me find the right host family, explaining everything clearly, preparing me for interviews, and always ready to answer my questions. If you’re thinking about doing an Au Pair program, whether it’s to learn a new language, broaden your horizons, step outside your comfort zone, or just try something completely different, I wholeheartedly recommend the Center for Affirmation and Development.

If you’re thinking about joining the Au Pair program, do it. Whether your goal is to learn the language, explore a new culture, grow as a person, or simply shake up your routine, this is an opportunity you won’t regret.
