My Life in Spain During the Coronavirus

Anđela, a participant in the “Discover Spain” cultural exchange program, shared her experience living in Cádiz. Here’s what her journey has been like:

I only have positive impressions when it comes to the whole program. The host family has been incredibly kind and is doing their best to introduce me to their culture and language. Since the town I’m staying in is quite small, we often take day trips to nearby villages or larger cities.

In my free time, I focus on learning Spanish, getting to know other participants, and exploring the many beaches and charming towns in the area. What’s left the biggest impression on me so far is the warmth and hospitality of my host family. I genuinely feel like part of the family, and I really enjoy spending time playing with the kids. On top of that, Spain as a country has completely won me over—and so have the people.

Based on my experience so far, I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone. I think it’s one of the best opportunities you can take to experience life in a new country, get to know a different culture and language, and build meaningful friendships along the way.
