Our cultural exchange participant Katarina is writing to us from Alcúdia, the main tourist hub in the northern part of Mallorca, where she’s been living for just over two weeks. Here’s what she shared about her experience so far.
The program is fantastic—I love the concept. I get along well with my host family, and I’m getting to know Spain through its food since they prepare all the traditional Spanish dishes for me.
Right now, there’s a week-long festival happening in town, which I found out about from a girl from Belgrade I met here. She lives and works in Spain, and we’ve been exploring the beaches and nearby places together whenever she has free time. When she’s working, I head out on my own or sometimes just stay home and read.
It’s still early to share a full reflection, but I can already say that this has been a great experience. I think it’s something that would benefit anyone. So far, the best part has been meeting someone from Serbia who’s excited to explore with me and help me discover the magic of Alcúdia and its surroundings.
