Ena, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, spent three amazing months in Seville—the vibrant heart of Andalusia. Here’s what she shared about her adventure:
Hi everyone! My name is Ena, and I spent three wonderful months in Seville, Spain. I became the sixth member of a lovely five-person Spanish family who welcomed me as one of their own—from day one, they truly made me feel like part of the family.
During the week, I’d spend a few hours a day with the kids—we’d go to the park, take walks, work on homework, or study for school tests together. On weekends, I could either join the family on their outings or take time for myself. Most weekends, I’d go exploring—whether around Seville or traveling to other parts of Spain—getting to know new customs, trying new foods, and meeting new people.
This experience was amazing. I even picked up a new language! I enrolled in Spanish classes, met so many kind and wonderful people, and genuinely enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks to this program, I got to see what life in Spain is really like—up close and personal.
Her message to future participants:
I would encourage anyone thinking about it to apply! Step outside your comfort zone and leap—it’s a big step, but such a rewarding one. Traveling like this is one of the best things you can do in life.
