Bruna, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, writes to us from Madrid, where she’s currently staying. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
The program has been amazing—our coordinators are always available and super helpful. From the very first day, the host family welcomed me with open arms, especially the kids. I truly enjoy spending time with them! Madrid is such a beautiful city with so much to see and do, so there’s never a dull moment.
In her free time, Bruna enjoys exploring the city, trying new foods, meeting people, and learning Spanish. She’s also planning to take a few day trips to nearby towns.
What I’ve enjoyed the most so far is the bond I’ve built with the kids and the time we spend together—and I have to say, the food here is amazing!
Her message to future participants:
This is one of those experiences that teaches you so much about yourself, the country you’re in, and how to navigate life more independently. You’ll meet great people, and the key is to stay open and make the most of your time abroad. Try new things whenever you can!
