Sandra, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, writes to us from Córdoba, in the heart of Andalusia. Here’s what she had to share about her experience:
I spent three months in Córdoba, a beautiful city in southern Spain. During that time, I got to know the country’s culture and way of life—and completely fell in love with it. I tried many traditional Spanish dishes, and some of them have become my new favorites!
The host family I lived with was absolutely lovely—kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Communication was smooth, and we always managed to find common ground. It was a real joy spending each day with the children and the family, especially because every day brought a chance to learn something new and keep improving my Spanish.
I also made lots of new friends. I used every free moment to explore, travel to nearby cities, and spend time with other Au Pair girls. What makes this program so special is the opportunity to truly experience Spanish culture and daily life from the inside.
Her message to future participants:
To anyone thinking about joining—make the most of every moment. Travel as much as you can, meet new people, and soak it all in. Most importantly, allow yourself to fully embrace this unique experience because every day brings something new and exciting.
