Nina is writing to us from the sizzling south of Spain, in beautiful Seville. Driven by a long-time desire to live abroad, she joined the cultural exchange program, and now she’s sure she made the right choice with Spain.
From the moment I arrived in Seville, I knew this experience would bring so many positives into my life. I’ve always wanted to truly get to know Spain and its culture, and now that I’m here, I can confidently say I made the right call. I clicked with my host family right away—they’ve been so kind, patient, and understanding from the start.
Most of my free time is spent learning Spanish. I actually enrolled in a language school during my very first week here, and I attend classes every day. That’s also where I met a bunch of friends I now spend my time with—we explore the city together, go out, and even plan little trips. I try to take advantage of every free weekend to visit new places around Andalusia and sample all kinds of traditional food.
What I’ve loved most about the program is the opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. I’ve been living with a typical Spanish family, which means I’m learning about their customs firsthand—how they celebrate holidays, how they live day to day. It’s such a different lifestyle from what I’m used to, and I find it fascinating. The friendships and connections I’ve made here feel incredibly special.
Even after the program ends, I know I’ll stay in touch with my host family—both the parents and the kids. They’ve become an important part of this unforgettable journey.
