Fantastic Opportunity – A Cultural Exchange in Spain

Aida, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, wrote to us from beautiful Cádiz. She’s been enjoying the magic of this place for several weeks now—including time in both Cádiz and Gijón, Asturias. Here’s more about her exciting adventure:

My first impressions of the program, the host family, and the city I’m living in have all been incredibly positive. The family is wonderful, and from the very beginning, I’ve felt truly welcomed—like a part of their home. They’re doing everything they can to make this experience unforgettable and to help me learn as much as possible along the way.

As for Cádiz, the city is absolutely fascinating. I’m blown away by the history, the stunning beaches, the warm atmosphere, and of course—the food! Even though it’s a completely new place for me, finding my way around was easy. The locals are super friendly and always happy to help—whether it’s giving directions or offering tips on what to visit.I spend my free time soaking up the summer and relaxing on the beautiful beaches that Cádiz has to offer. I also explore nearby towns and cities, and I’m making a real effort to learn about the culture and history of the area. My host family is so lovely that I genuinely enjoy spending a lot of my free time with them too—whether we’re chilling at home or heading out on little trips together.

What’s impressed me the most is how kind and helpful people are here. I’ve especially loved exploring the city and its surroundings, discovering beautiful beaches and historical landmarks, and indulging in the incredible food. The day-to-day interaction with my host family, and their effort to share their way of life with me, has made my time in the program truly priceless.

When it comes to working with our team, Aida says:
