Tamara, one of our cultural exchange participants in Italy, shares a beautiful story from her time in Florence. Here’s what she had to say:
I started my journey in the most beautiful region of Italy – Tuscany. I’m staying with a family based in Florence, where they live year-round. But since I arrived for a 3-month stay during the summer, when everyone heads off on holiday, I’ve been lucky enough to travel with the family along both the Ligurian and Adriatic coasts. They’ve been incredibly kind, and everyone treats me with so much warmth. The kids are very active and constantly curious to learn new things, so our time together is always full of fun and interesting moments.
In her free time, Tamara takes the opportunity to explore cities and landmarks, soaking up as much of Italian culture as she can — something she says she truly enjoys.
What I loved most about this program is how quickly I picked up the language, which will definitely be useful to me in the future — along with all the experience I’ve gained.
