As a participant in the “Discover Italy” cultural exchange program, Dajana spent three unforgettable months in the southern Italian city of Chieti. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
For someone who loves traveling, good food, and especially Italian culture and language, three months in Italy felt like a dream come true. I lived in Vasto, a small coastal town in central Italy. Since the town is right by the sea, we spent nearly every day—up until mid-October—swimming, enjoying the stunning beaches, and feasting on delicious seafood. We traveled together to Florence, Frosinone, Pescara, and Termoli.
When I arrived, the family picked me up at the airport and brought me to their seaside home, where I had my own room and bathroom. I had plenty of free time to study the language, go for long walks, and explore the town. Weekends were for day trips or lazy afternoons at the beach. I also met some amazing people during my stay—many of whom I’m still in touch with today.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this adventure to anyone even slightly curious or adventurous. You’ll come back with incredible memories and stories you’ll cherish for life.
