Olga checked in with us from Funes, a small town in the province of Navarra, Spain, where she’s been staying with a host family for the past month. She’s been spending her days getting to know the locals, with more travel plans in sight—including celebrating her birthday in Barcelona. Here’s her story:
I’ve dreamed my whole life of living in Spain—of immersing myself in the culture, learning the language, and spending my days surrounded by these incredible people. So when I discovered the cultural exchange program, I knew it was the perfect way to finally make that dream come true.
Now, I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Living in Funes, a small town in Navarra, gives me the chance to experience authentic Spanish life. Since this isn’t a touristy area, there’s something truly special about the way the family and their friends have welcomed me in—I genuinely feel like I’m one of them. I already know I’ve made lifelong friends.
I’ve had so many amazing moments here, the kind of memories you can’t put a price on. I’ve been in Spain for a month and a half now, with another month and a half to go, so I’ll keep a few things to myself for now. There’s still a lot I want to do, and when it’s all over, I’ll be back with the full story of the best adventure of my life.
