Living the Italian Way – A Cultural Exchange in Italy

If I had to sum up my experience in one word—it would be perfect. The family I stayed with welcomed me as one of their own, and saying they were kind to me would be an understatement. I was included in all the family’s activities, trips, and day-to-day fun, and I truly felt like their fifth family member. Every day was filled with something new. Everything with the family went smoothly and was based on mutual agreement—and even more than that, they went above and beyond all my expectations. They did everything they could to make sure I had the best experience possible and got to know Italy in every sense of the word.

Turin is full of landmarks, museums, exhibitions, parks, and fun places to explore. I spent every free moment discovering the city with friends from all over the world who I met during my stay. I tried all the typical Italian foods, visited so many beautiful cities, and truly experienced the Italian way of life.

I’m sure that applying for this program—and stepping out of my comfort zone—was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Thanks to this experience, I didn’t just get to enjoy Italy, I also made new friends and found a second family I adore.
