Romana, one of our cultural exchange participants in Spain, spent three unforgettable months living near Madrid. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
From day one, I was completely blown away by both the family and the city I was living in. I adjusted quickly to all the new things around me, and the family welcomed me like one of their own. Saying I was happy would be an understatement. 🥰
She fell in love with Madrid at first sight and took every opportunity to explore all it had to offer. During her stay, she also visited other cities like Toledo, Segovia, Ávila, and Valencia.
Romana especially enjoyed the Spanish way of life—the food, the people, and the vibrant energy of it all. One of the highlights for her was learning Spanish, a language she didn’t speak before joining the program. On top of that, she was surrounded by other languages like English and Polish, which made the whole experience even richer for her.
