Program Costs for Host Families

At Au Pair Exchange, our agency fees cover a comprehensive range of services, ensuring a smooth and secure experience for both host families and au pairs.

What’s Included in the Agency Fee?

Careful selection & matching of au pairs according to legal regulations.
Verification of entry requirements based on the au pair’s country of origin.
Guidance on residency requirements in the host country.
Advice on private health insurance for au pairs, depending on their home country and healthcare coverage in the host country.
Preparation of a written agreement outlining the rights and responsibilities of both parties, in accordance with legal regulations.
Comprehensive screening process – Each au pair undergoes a rigorous interview and selection process to ensure maximum compatibility between the au pair and the host family.
Orientation for au pairs to help them adapt to the culture, lifestyle, and expectations in their host country.
Ongoing support throughout the program for both the au pair and the host family.
24/7 emergency assistance for both the au pair and the family.
Conflict resolution & rematching policy – If a serious issue arises that cannot be resolved, a replacement au pair will be assigned according to our Relocation Policy. If no replacement is available, we apply our Limited Refund Policy.

Agency Fees & Payment Policy

We do not require an upfront deposit. The full agency fee is only due once the host family selects an au pair and the au pair accepts the placement.

The total cost of the program depends on the host family’s country and the duration of the au pair’s stay. Fees vary based on program length and whether the au pair is a native English speaker, bilingual, or from another nationality.

To receive detailed pricing information, please contact our team or fill out the application form.

✔ The agency fee must be paid within 7 days of au pair acceptance and before the au pair arrives. If payment is not received, the au pair may be matched with another family.
✔ If the selected au pair does not arrive, the full fee will be refunded to the host family.
Loyalty discount – Families who host again through our agency receive a discount on the next placement.

Weekly Pocket Money for Au Pairs

Host families are required to provide weekly pocket money, which depends on the country, program length, and number of working hours.

  • Standard weekly stipend is based on a 25-30 hour work schedule, with options for reduced hours at a lower stipend.
  • Families in large cities or suburban areas may need to provide a monthly public transportation pass.
  • Extra hours beyond the agreed schedule are compensated separately at a set hourly rate.
  • Babysitting hours count toward the total agreed weekly hours. If the agreed hours are exceeded, extra babysitting must be paid separately.
  • Unless otherwise agreed, babysitting should not take place on the au pair’s free days and is typically scheduled on weekdays or alternating Fridays.

For exact details regarding pocket money requirements in your country, please reach out to our team.
