We’re hearing from Anja, one of our cultural exchange participants, who is currently living her dream in beautiful Italy. Read on to hear about her adventure:
A long-held dream of mine—to visit this stunning country—has finally come true. This is a completely new kind of experience for me, not only because of the length of my stay but also because of the new environment. I’m currently living near Lake Maggiore, surrounded by lush vegetation, beautiful historical architecture, and incredibly warm people.
I’ve had the chance to explore both small and large Italian towns, as well as the coast, and every place has left its mark on me. The host family I’m staying with welcomed me exactly as I hoped they would, based on the conversations we had beforehand. I truly feel at home here. The two girls I spend my days with are creative, bright, and full of curiosity about the world around them.
I believe this experience will remain with me for a long time—it’s one of those moments in life that feels truly special.
