Naila writes to us from the sunny town of Premià de Dalt, just outside Barcelona, where she’s spent the past three months. Spain has left a lasting impression on her, and here’s why.
Everything has been fantastic! I quickly found my rhythm with the family and their routine, and they welcomed me so warmly. The town is full of interesting places and things to explore, so I’ve had a lot of fun discovering something new almost every day.
I spend a good amount of my free time with the host family. There’s always something fun to do. We often go to the beach together, which is one of our favorite shared activities. When I’m not with them, I usually head into the city. I don’t always have a specific plan—I just wander and stumble upon places that catch my eye in the moment.
Honestly, everything has been wonderful, and it’s hard to pick one thing that stands out. But I’d say the warmth and friendliness of the people stuck with me. Learning Spanish with the family has also been a really fun experience. And the beach, of course! It’s so close and absolutely beautiful—I still can’t believe how often I get to go.
To future participants, here’s my message: Don’t overthink it—just go for it! This has been one of the best decisions of my life. Such a beautiful and unforgettable experience ❤️.
